Final meetings are being scheduled

I have an unofficial announcement for the remaining meetings on the Fuquay ETJ.  I say “Unofficial” as they are subject to change and have not been posted on the county website as of yet.

That being said,  I have little doubt that this will be the schedule of events.

  1. Monday, August 12th, @ 2 p.m. is another Wake County Commissioner Working Session on FV’s ETJ and some other matters (not for public comment)
  2. Tuesday, September 3rd @ 5 p.m Public Hearing (Very Important only opportunity to speak publicly to the Commissioners)
  3. Likely Commissioner vote on ETJ Monday September 16 @2pm  meeting

Please plan to attend (& bring many people with you to) the 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, Wake County Public Hearing on Fuquay-Varina’s ETJ Expansion Request in downtown Raleigh at 301 South McDowell Street, Room 2700, Wake County Justice Center, 2nd Floor.      THIS IS IT!!!!!

The county is only required to give property owners at least 10 days notice regarding the Public Hearing, so please be on the lookout for a postcard announcing the Public Hearing likely to be held @ 5 p.m. on Tues., Sept 3.

If folks prefer they can ride the GoRaleigh, Route 7, South Saunders Street, bus from Mechanical Blvd @ Lowe’s Home Improvement, Garner, bus stop or from the Shoppes @ Garner Station bus stop @ Big Lots to the Wake County Justice Center.  Bus riders would have to walk to the corner of South Dawson & West Cabarrus St to catch the outbound South Saunders Street bus back to their car though.  Exact change is required to ride the bus.  I think a round trip is $2.50 but might be more.  Buses run until approx 11:30 p.m. weekdays.  See bus schedule link below.

(The Wake County Public Hearing date is subject to change but go ahead and mark your calendars tentatively for Sept 3 @ 5 p.m. and plan to attend unless you hear otherwise.)
